I really should learn to take my own advice...but I’m a New Yorker, born and bred, so kicking back and going with the flow isn't exactly my strong suit, though I'm learning. One thing I did find early on as a writer, is that you should always write what you know, and for that reason my stories and my characters embody the grit and complexity of the city I love. I'm also an avid traveler, so I use my experiences from around the world in all my books. There isn’t a place my characters live or travel to that I haven’t been myself.

THE LEGEND SERIES INTERVIEW
with author Marianne Morea
What inspired the idea for the series?
The books were inspired by the true events that occurred in the hamlet of Sleepy Hollow during the time of the Revolutionary War. Washington Irving wrote a wonderful legend, but it was truly complete work of fiction...a true tall tale...but there's more to the history of Sleepy Hollow Country than the headless horseman...
Who would play your Hero and Heroine in a movie? I think that Zane from the band One Direction would be a possibility for my hero, Hunter Morrissey. He’s young and tall and has a lean athletic build… exactly what I envisioned when writing the character. For my heroine, Rowan Corbett...hmmm...I'm not sure. Perhaps my readers could give me a few suggestions.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Hollow’s End...a tale of lies and true evil, and a love that took centuries to right a wrong that never should have been. Time Turner is the sequel following Rowen and Hunter after the horror of Hollow's End has been put to rest... or so they thought. The supernatural hasn't finished with them, and they are cast into situations that include intrigues, betrayal and have Rowen and Hunter facing more danger than they ever imagined...
Will the books be self-published or traditional? Both Hollow’s End and Time Turner will be published by Coventry Press Ltd.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? It took three months to get the bare bones of the story outlined and roughly written, and then three more to flesh it out, then almost a year to complete the research and finish writing. It's a process...
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Hmmm. I’m not really sure. This series is historical, yet it's got both horror as well as paranormal elements in it too...and let’s not forget about the romance!
Who or What inspired you to write this book? I grew up in the Hudson Valley not far from Sleepy Hollow, and more importantly, my husband's family is actually from Sleepy Hollow...
What else might pique the reader’s interest? That the series is inspired by true historic events....
