Marianne Morea
Urban Fantasy, Paranormal & Contemporary Romance Author

Welcome! Sit back, relax...

I really should learn to take my own advice...but I’m a New Yorker, born and bred, so kicking back and going with the flow isn't exactly my strong suit, though I'm learning. One thing I did find early on as a writer, is that you should always write what you know, and for that reason my stories and my characters embody the grit and complexity of the city I love. I'm also an avid traveler, so I use my experiences from around the world in all my books. There isn’t a place my characters live or travel to that I haven’t been myself...and through my words, try to transport my readers.

With the publication of my first Novella, Hunter’s Blood, in September 2010, I tasted success while learning the hard way you can't please everyone. Since its release, the reviews have been good for the most part, and for that I will be forever grateful. Readers are the front line for an author, so my thanks and appreciation go out to each and every one of you.

In December 2011, my dark paranormal romance, Blood Legacy, was released by Mitchell-Morris Publishing. It is the first book in my Legacy Series, and takes you from modern day New York City to the Costa del la Luz in Spain, to foggy London and the romance of Rome. It also takes you back in time 300 years to a place rife with conflict and brutality, bringing an historical edge to my vampires and their lives, a love that spans the centuries and the search for absolution and redemption that carries death in its wake.

Twice Cursedthe second book in my Cursed by Blood Saga and the long awaited sequel to Hunter's Blood, was released in November 2012. Also new to this Contemporary Shifter series is,  Hunter's Blood Special Edition, an expanded edition of the original novella, offering readers previously unpublished scenes. The saga is set on the east coast of the United States, taking you from the rocky coast of Maine to the heart of New York City, the N.Y.P.D. and the hidden world of the vampire underground. Revenge and the struggle for power all play a part in this urban fantasy suspense, where Weres and Vampires are forced to work together to solve the mystery of what’s tearing their veiled world apart from the inside out.

Like most authors, my love affair with the written word started as a child with the books I read. Even today, love to read almost as much as I love to write. My favorite stories are the ones that transport me, that bring me to places and introduce me to characters that leave me breathless…the ones that spark the fire of my imagination, allowing me to dream in the world of ‘what if?’

So after years in the trenches of Madison Avenue working as a Graphic Artist, I decided to do what I love most fulltime. Write.

Who says dreams can’t come true?

My Next Release is Scheduled!

So what’s next for you as a writer?

I am currently working on a Young Adult Horror which is due for release in 2013. I've entitled it, Hollow's End.

What inspired the idea for the story?

The book was inspired by the true events that occurred in the hamlet of Sleepy Hollow during the time of the Revolutionary War. Washington Irving wrote a wonderful legend, but it was truly complete work of fiction...a true tall tale.

What actors would play your Hero and Heroine in the movie version?

I think that Harry Styles from the band One Direction would be perfect for my hero, Hunter Morrissey. He’s 17, and tall and has a lean athletic build… exactly what I envisioned when writing the character. For my heroine, Rowan Corbett...hmmm...I'm not sure. Perhaps my readers could give me a few suggestions.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Hollow’s End...a tale of lies and true evil, and a love that took centuries to right a wrong that never should have been.

Will your book be self-published or traditional?

Hollows End will be published by Coventry Press Ltd.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

It took three months to get the bare bones of the story outlined and roughly written, and then three more to flesh it out. It’s a work in progress…

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Hmmm. I’m not really sure. This book is historical, yet it's got both horror as well as paranormal elements in it too...and let’s not forget about the romance!

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

I wanted to set the record straight. Plus, I grew up in the Hudson Valley not far from Sleepy Hollow, and more importantly, my husband's family is actually from Sleepy Hollow.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

That it’s inspired by the true story...on fact.
